amanda + matthew (the real blog post)

So enough with teasers-on to Amanda + Matthew’s official slideshow + blog sneak peek!

We truly loved getting to know them both-and we really had a blast with them on their very snowy, very windy michigan wedding day. We adore what we were able to capture for them. Enjoy!!

and there is a LOT more than just the photos below in their wedding slideshow here:

Jess & Nate, these are lovely. Among my specific favorites are the FIRST one at the top of the blog. I won’t bother going into the technicals about what I love about it, but it’s the feel of that couplet that draws me.

Farther down, the image set taken with the elegant wall sconce. It’s exactly the sort of image I’d want to shoot in that location, and I genuinely like the way you played with various angles there.

And finally, I love the second to last image, where they are kissing. You feel as if you’re there, and yet there is this great space created in the composition, as if they’re in this room filled with people and yet in their own universe at the same time. Beautiful. :)

What a gorgeous wedding this was. Wonderfully captured for them.

If I could have had another wedding,(same groom and same photographers. duh.) this wedding would have been it! My favorite part is how you capture the theme of the wedding through your photography style. Simply fabulous!

Wow! These look amazing. I love all the portraits of the B+G. Very classy. Do you mind answering a few questions? What are your favourite lens to use? And, Do you bring any additional lighting to weddings?

Thanks everyone! We love blog comments!

Hi Jamie-thanks for your kind words. My personal favorite lens is my 85mm 1.2 and the 45mm TSE. We bring video lights to weddings most often. Hope that helps!

Absolutely stunning photos. I’ve been obsessed with these images since I first saw them. We’re trying to create a similar feel with the shots for our wedding. Any chance you could tell me what hotel the preparations shots were in? We’re getting married downtown and can’t decide where to stay. Thanks!
